BLOCKED. now we build
Something powerful happened in Senate District 38.
Neighbors showed up. In large numbers, community members participated in the caucus process, stepping forward to become delegates and represent their voices at the Senate District 38 DFL convention. That alone speaks volumes about the level of energy and engagement we’re seeing across our district.
At the convention, those delegates gathered for a multi-day process to determine which candidate would receive the DFL endorsement—a designation that requires a significant threshold of support.
After two full days and multiple rounds of voting, no candidate reached that threshold.
As a first-time candidate, I entered this race knowing I was up against an experienced, 10-year elected official in Susan Pha, who has previously earned the DFL endorsement. To be able to compete at this level—and ultimately prevent an endorsement from being secured—speaks to something much bigger than any one campaign.
It speaks to momentum.
It speaks to engagement.
And it speaks to a community that is ready for conversation, for new ideas, and for leadership that reflects where we are today.
This result is not about division—it’s about participation. It shows that people are paying attention, getting involved, and making their voices heard in the democratic process.
But this is not the finish line.
Now, the decision moves from delegates to voters across the entire district. Both campaigns will head to the primary, where the community will decide who advances to the general election as the Democratic candidate.
Key Dates to Know:
- Early Voting Begins: June 26
- Primary Election Day: August 11
Only one Democrat will move forward.
The energy we saw at caucus and convention matters—but what happens next matters even more.
If you showed up before, we need you again.
If you’ve been watching, now is the time to get involved.
Let’s keep building this momentum—together.
